August 6, 2014 By Carli Evilsizer 1 Comment

SEO-for-Beginners--3-Tips-to-Improve-SEOSEO Basics: What is SEO?
SEO is an abbreviation for Search Engine Optimization. SEO is the strategy of optimizing a website for search engines to help drive traffic. Using keywords and phrases throughout a website helps improve a company be found through a search engine. Having relevant and easy to understand site content will also help improve SEO.

SEO Basics: Why Do Businesses Need SEO?
SEO is possibly one of the most important (and misunderstood) marketing tools. Unfortunately just having a website doesn’t gurantee products will be found by a potential customer. In order to be found through a search engine, site content must have the keywords people use in searches. SEO puts a company in front of an interested audience who are already searching for those products online.

SEO Basics for Beginners- 3 Tips to Improve SEO

SEO Basics: How to Improve SEO?

1) Use the Keyword: Use the key word is throughout the website but don’t over do it. Try including the keyword throughout site content, in the URL, meta description and title of a post to help improve SEO.

2) Identify the Topic Quickly: Not only should the keyword be included in the title but the keyword should be as close to the beginning of the title to improve SEO. It is also important to include the keyword in the first paragraph also the close to the beginning in one of the first three lines of text.

3) Name Images: Images are sometimes neglected but can help improve SEO. Don’t name images “JPG 1,” instead use the title of the article to improve SEO. Including the keyword in the title of the image or saving the image using the entire title of the article  is another place to include the keyword to improve SEO. This is a very easy step that is easy to forget.

Great post Carli- I like the nice and simple tips. I have to say however that I do think that businesses new to it all should make an effort to learn the basics if for nothing else then to at least ensure that they find the right agency and don’t fall in the hands of spammers!
