Design World Media launches Women in Engineering Issue

Digital Network, Events & Magazine plans to recognize inspiring women in design engineering

Cleveland, OH – WTWH Media, LLC, a business-to-business publishing and event company, today announced the launch Design World’s Women in Engineering issue. The company’s flagship brand, Design World, will celebrate some of the most inspiring women in the design engineering space in the November issue.

The editorial team will highlight female engineers who are positively influencing design technology or engineering practices today. They will highlight their accomplishments in the design process, as well as their leadership skills and mentorship.

“When I attended engineering classes in college, I was often the only women in them, and I know my experience is not uncommon, even today,” said Leslie Langnau, Managing Editor, Design World. “Female engineers make major contributions toward solving society’s engineering challenges, but they don’t always receive the recognition they deserve. WTWH Media wishes to recognize these women and draw attention to support for STEM and STEAM programs.”

Nominations are due August 10, 2018. Candidates must work for an original equipment manufacturer in an electrical or mechanical engineering role. Winners will exhibit expertise in their fields, show leadership in elevating their industry, and have a passion for ushering in change.

The winners will be honored at an awards presentation in conjunction with DeviceTalks West in Orange County, California on December 11, 2018. DeviceTalks is the premier industry event for the medtech community, fostering the exchange of ideas, insight and technology among the pioneers of the medical industry and the engineering behind it.

Fully 50% of the gross proceeds from the November print issue will be donated to a charity or scholarship relating to STEM/STEAM work. Winners will be invited onto a steering committee to advise on next year’s nominations and to select the donation recipient.
