5 Easy Ways to Boost Instagram Engagement

Whether you are brand new to the app or already have a large following, increasing engagement on Instagram can be incredibly beneficial. Engagements are a good indication of how actively involved with your content your audience is, and how effective your brand campaigns are.

On Instagram, consumers engage with brands through interactions such as likes, comments, shares, saves, story replies, and profile clicks. Here are five easy ways to improve your audience engagement.

1. Be Consistent With Your Posting Schedule

One of the easiest ways to build a loyal, engaged audience on Instagram is to post regularly. This shows your followers that you are committed and gives them more opportunities to engage. If you struggle with posting consistently, consider creating a content calendar.

2. Utilize Hashtags

Solar Power World utilized #10YearSolar and #TopSolar2021 to promote the release of their annual Top Solar Contractors list.

There are many reasons why hashtags should be included in your content, but to put it simply, hashtags help your content get discovered. Adding relevant hashtags in the caption or the first comment makes your Instagram posts highly searchable. While Instagram allows up to 30 hashtags per post, you don’t want to overdo it. Remember to be thoughtful and strategic about the hashtags you use.

2. Engage With Your Audience

Thoughtfully respond to your followers’ comments, DMs, and questions. Acknowledging your commenters and participating in conversations makes followers feel seen and heard. Take it a step further by commenting on posts from accounts with a similar target audience to gain exposure within their following. Or, repost your customers’ relevant content. They will be thrilled you were listening, and other followers may be compelled to start tagging you in their own content.

4. Create Saveable Content

Saves are one of the most valuable types of engagement that you can receive on Instagram. To encourage users to save your posts, create content that users will want to reference again. This may include infographics, tips, how-to guides, or a calendar of events.

5. Get Creative With Instagram Stories

Stories are separate from your traditional feed, and because they disappear from your profile after 24 hours, users are eager to see what you have posted. Instagram Stories are perfect for humanizing your brand and also offer a variety of interactive sticker features. Conduct a poll, host a Q&A, or use the emoji sliders. The possibilities are endless.
