Yet many people are are oblivious how to use LinkedIn.
Most people understand how to make a profile, fill in your work-related skills and previous work information, but once that is up, I see many people drop off the social network, not knowing what to do with it next.
Three Simple Things You Should Be Doing On LinkedIn
One of the things you can and should do after joining LinkedIn is join some groups related to your interests and profession. Groups allow you to create and participate in discussions as well as find influential people within your industry by checking who are the group’s top influencers.
As a LinkedIn user, you can also follow company pages and stay up to date with what’s going on within the company by viewing their status updates in your news feed that is on your LinkedIn homepage. Some companies that you might want to follow could be customers, vendors, dream-job companies, etc.
Lastly, don’t forget to connect with people, it is a social network after all Use LinkedIn’s search bar to find and connect with friends, co-workers, clients, and even potential people you’d like to meet or stay up-to-date with. Don’t be shy in asking these people for endorsements or recommendations via LinkedIn. On this social platform, it is socially acceptable to do so.
