WTWH Media Takes on the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
Have you seen those crazy people all over your Facebook dumping water on their heads? It’s known as the Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS. If you’re nominated by a Facebook friend you have 24 hours to dump a bucket of water and ice on your head or donate $100 to an ALS charity of your choice. Then of course, you get to tag your friends to participate in the challenge.
Many wonder if this challenge is spreading because it’s something fun to do and cool to share with your Facebook friends or if it’s actually bringing awareness to ALS. According to the Google Trends ALS page, the term “ALS” has had a spike in views since this challenge began back around July 29. Since the inception of the challenge the ALS Association has accrued $2.3 million. This challenge is a genius idea to not only raise awareness and raise money for ALS, but you get to have fun while doing it.
Watch WTWH Media staff take on the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Taking an educational approach to the challenge, editors and designers from Design World, Solar Power World, Fluid Power World and Windpower Engineering and Development share facts about ALS and then get drenched by ice cold water in front of their new offices in Cleveland. To learn more about ALS and to donate visit ALSA.ORG. We now challenge YOU to take on the #ALSIceBucketChallenge. Here are our results:
