Tips for Getting More Out of Your Webinars

Looking to generate more leads while engaging with a captive audience?

Our webinars put your brand squarely in front of leaders across foodservice, retail, and hospitality. So how do you get more out of your webinar experience? We asked our resident expert, WTWH Webinar Manager Matt Boblett, for some tips.

  • Identify the Why: When designing your webinar, focus on a problem or issue. Define it, he says, then explain how it can be solved. This gives your audience a better grasp on why your solution makes sense to help them grow their business in 2025 and beyond.
  • Make it More Approachable: Have multiple speakers on your webinar in order to bring multiple viewpoints into the mix. Specifically, webinars that feature external speakers do well. If you’re building a webinar on a c-store workforce platform, for instance, find a provider that can speak to successfully leveraging it to achieve X, Y, and Z results. Or, consider switching to a fireside chat format. Why? The fireside chat format tends to be more open and free-flowing. This, he says, tends to generate better audience engagement and retention.
  • Less Text, More Images: When it comes to designing slides for your webinar, have more slides with more images and with less text, with a minimum font size of 24 point. This allows your audience to be more engaged with your webinar by not requiring them to read a lot of text while you and your panelists are speaking.
  • Engage, Engage, Engage: Use poll questions to learn more about your audience. For instance, ask your audience about common trends they’re noticing, issues they’re having, or tools they’re interested in learning more about. Matt also recommends responding to audience feedback promptly and encouraging them to ask questions throughout. Doing so helps keep people engaged and encourages richer discussions.
  • Be a Resource: Provide several pieces of existing content to your audience. This could include white papers, case studies, how-to guides, or more. Your webinar report will include a list of who downloaded each piece of content, helping your team identify the strongest leads and enabling your team to start stronger conversations with them.
