Design World Widgets and Calculators

A web widget is a chunk of code (most often Flash based with some under the hood programming fun) that can be installed and executed within any separate HTML based web page or site by an end user without requiring additional compilation. Other terms covering the idea include: gadget, badge, module, webjit, capsule, and snippet among others. Here at the Design World Network, we see many applications that are well suited for widget development, calculators being a great fit. Many web sites offering calculators do a good job with the amount of calculators you can find, but the presentation and navigation suffers. While we know our calculators will be selective, we hope they offer some use and are effective in a sharable, compact, portable widget format.

We’ve launched a number of calculator, news, and multimedia widgets with the volume calculator being the latest in the line-up.

The volume basics calculator widget from Design World features flow, volume, common terms, and shapes calculations. With the flow calculations you can convert from Liters/sec/min/h to gallons/day/minute and cubic feet/minute. Volume includes a matrix of variables to convert to cubic inches/feet/yards, gallons and barrels. The easy to read shapes feature, provides a clean interface to calculate quickly.
