What Is A Tweetchat?
Think that Twitter is irrelevant? Think again. Think that Twitter is just for spamming? You’re wrong. Think that Twitter is not for the average Joe? You may be surprised. Florida Governor Rick Scott recently held a town hall meeting in his bedroom with over 5,000 people. Using Twitter, Gov. Scott […]
How To Properly Mingle In The World’s Largest Cocktail Party Called Twitter
In the realm of social media, I enjoy likening Twitter to the world’s largest cocktail party; you have this giant room in which there are millions of people talking, and it is easy for one to become lost and/or overwhelmed. People I have met that are disgruntled with Twitter often […]
Is Social Media a Fad?
While I was out in the Twitterverse, I came across a youtube video that was very powerful. It basically starts out with the question “Is social media a fad?”; from there, it goes to illustrate how social media has taken over the cyber world and is revolutionizing the way we […]
Social Media: The New PR Fire Extinguisher
So today I came across an article about a deadly venomous snake that is missing from the New York City Zoo. This Egyptian Cobra, which can easily take down an elephant within hours (not to mention a human within minutes), has been missing for a few days now, and zoo […]
Using Bit.ly To Track Your Twitter ROI
People tell you that your business should be on Twitter, but as a marketer, you are pressed to show that Twitter has a positive ROI. You put out tweets with links, but how can you tell if people are reading your tweets? If you are familiar with the Twitter world, […]

Utilizing Social Media
Kudos to Nook Industries. I mention them based on a an Engineering Exchange post regarding their Infinity 1 Roller Screw Actuator. Often members and suppliers toss out product info on the Exchange which is great, but I often yearn out of curiosity for more detail, tools, video, case studies or other information […]
What’s your number?
I stumbled upon Klout a while back – found it somewhat intriguing. Their tech aims to rank folks according to their actions on Twitter and also Facebook. So through an algorithm of post content, re-tweets, followers and syntax you get to some number out of 100 ranking your influence and reach. I ranked a […]
Twitter > Facebook? For Marketers, Yes Indeed
Seventy-eight percent of all social media traffic goes through Facebook, while Twitter is a measly 5%. Although, despite the market share, a study by Social Twist says the better bet is to use Twitter for marketing and NOT Facebook. After analyzing more than one million links on both Facebook and Twitter, researchers found that Facebook’s shared links average only 3 clicks, while on the other hand, Twitter generates an average 19 click-throughs every time a link is embedded into a tweet.
How Companies Are Shortcoming Their Sales Teams
In the era of Facebook, Google, Twitter and Yelp (an extensive product review site), buyers have as much control over the flow of information they receive as salespeople have available to them. The process of buying was once a one-way interaction between an informed seller and a curious buyer, but […]
How Groupons Drive Buisiness
In case you haven’t noticed, the world of marketing has been rapidly changing. One emerging marketing tactic that is catching on is “collective […]

Back to the Future
It feels like 1995. Last night as insomnia kept me hard at work, I got an iteration of the ‘Engineering Exchange’ App submitted to Apple for approval – build #18772- to be sure at 4am. So as I uploaded the binary I thought of the days of charging folks $85 / hour for basic html […]

Posting Frequency
I suck. I admit it. The last time I wrote was August, and before that once in June. How could these months have passed by so fast? I could blame Twitter and the plethora of tools to broadcast snippets of wisdom or mundane garbage, but I won’t. I’ve been trying out different […]
