5 Best Practices for Facebook Success
-Have a complete profile. When creating a Facebook business page don’t forget to complete the ‘About’ section. Add a short company bio, select a category, include the date founded, and contact information. For bonus points there is also space to add company awards and a mission statement. Most importantly do not forget to include the company’s website.
-Make a good first impression: The large cover photo on a company’s page is the first thing a customer will see so make it count. The cover photo needs to be large, 851 pixels by 315 pixels is recommended. Use a high-quality photo showcasing company products or promotions and change for upcoming tradeshows or new products.
-Never Have Text-Only Posts: Every post should include a relevant photo or video and a link back to the company website. Photos are more likely to stand out in a stream of posts and grab a reader’s attention. Always try to find a relevant, high-quality image to include in each post. Most importantly every post should include a link to the company website so customers can easily get more information about the product or company news posted.
-Post Consistently: Have a plan of action for how often and what times you are going to post on a company page. Try to post daily for consistently reach to your audience. Also, use Facebook Analytics to see what time of the day your audience is most active and try to schedule posts during that time. Usually late afternoon and early evening is the most active period on Facebook. Last but not least don’t be a robot on Facebook; make sure to engage with customers by with likes and comments.
-Review Performance: Take advantage of Facebook Insights to see which posts performed best. Take note of what type of content had the most engagement and continue to post similar content. Don’t only measure ROI based on likes, comments and shares. It is important to consider impressions and link clicks. Keep track of performance and adjust your posting strategy on a regular basis.
