10 Video Marketing Facts B2B Marketers Should Live By

With marketing evolving daily, it’s important to stick to the facts. One of the most crucial elements to incorporate into your plan is video marketing. If you’re not already dedicating time each week towards promoting your company/brand/product/service through video, you’re definitely going to want to rethink your strategy. Video has increasingly taken over as the main driver of engagement on social media, and is increasingly becoming a popular and preferred way of consuming content on one’s website.

By utilizing video marketing, you have the opportunity to give your viewers a visual experience, which allows for a much larger possibility of engagement, due to more than the majority of people wanting content/information to be delivered through video.

But why is video so important?  Is it really necessary to have video in your strategy? Have no fear – all of these questions will be answered. The short answer is, yes, promoting through video is important, necessary to have, and can grow your company’s and customer’s success. The amount of marketers and businesses incorporating video into their permanent strategy for the first time is greatly increasing.

Here are 10 Video marketing Facts B2B Marketers Should Live By:

  1. Video marketing is growing in importance

In 2020, According to Wyzowl, “92% of marketers say that video is an important part of their marketing strategy. This has grown from 78% in 2015, showing that the importance of video is only growing”. Video can be added into your strategy through a number of ways, and sales and marketers are increasingly wanting to get into video promotion due to the success they see from other businesses.

  2. Marketing and sales want to grow through new strategies

“41% of B2B marketers are interested in exploring how videos can be added to their marketing and sales strategies in 2020”, according to Marketing Charts. If you look all over numerous social media platforms, you will find the majority of posts being videos. Video grabs people’s attention in a whole different way. It’s easier to reach people, it allows for multitasking, you’re more likely to see a higher focus level with video compared to other types of delivery.

  3. The majority of businesses advertise through video on a regular basis

“86% of businesses use video as a marketing tool, holding steady from last year”, according to Hubspot. If the majority of businesses are incorporating video into their strategy and this is something your company doesn’t do or rarely does, think of the success that other businesses are seeing when they advertise through video on a regular basis.

  4. See more success from your lead generation efforts through video marketing

Most marketers feel that video is an excellent and well-worth investment for lead generation. Wyzowl states, “86% of video marketers say video has been effective for generating leads, up another 2% from 2021 and up 5% since 2019”. If you are looking for new ways to generate leads, look no further: start investing into video.

  5. Video marketing can guarantee a high ROI

Wyzowl states, “63% of businesses have started using video content marketing, whereas 83% of businesses say that video provides good return on investment (ROI)”. Still having doubts? What’s better than a guaranteed high ROI? Start with how you are going to promote your content through video and what you are going to promote. Once you figure that part out, you’re halfway there on seeing a successful ROI.

  6. Video marketing directly leads to sales and new business opportunities

According to dreamgrow.com, “Video can also lead directly to sales. Studies show that 74% of users who watched an explainer-video about a product or service subsequently bought it”. In fact, Aberdeen Group states: “Video marketers get 66% more qualified leads per year”. The time is now for sales and marketing to work together to establish a well put together video plan that features a plethora of ideas that would work to help get the word out about what you are trying to push.

  7. See higher revenue by utilizing video marketing

“Marketers who use video grow revenue 49% faster than non-video users”, according to Wordstream. What better way to see an increase in total income, by trying out a new marketing tactic, video. There are many sales opportunities with video that can result in growing your profits.

  8. The conversion rate is astonishing!

Over 60% of people surveyed in a poll from PROMO.com, stated they would sometimes visit the company’s website after watching their video. Heck of a conversion rate! That means more than half of the people watching the video remembered the company name and are interested in continuing further in what they’re offering. To sum it up: 3 out of 4 people watching your video will most likely take the next step into visiting your website.

  9. The time and money spent towards video is vastly increasing

According to Marketing Charts, “Advertisers went from spending $45B on video marketing in 2019 to $61B in 2021”, showing no signs of slowing down. In fact, the complete opposite. Video consumption is increasing daily. Therefore, marketers are investing more time and effort into creation, which opens up more opportunities for sales to sell video.

  10. Watching and/or listening to videos is now the preferred way of consuming content

Dreamgrow points out, “68% of consumers would prefer watching a video tell the story”, rather than a blog or article. Though this can worry content writers, starting to put together videos as a “video read-through”, (meaning, viewers are watching/listening to you read through the article you typed up, with extra commentary) is starting to become a popular way of consuming content!

The amount of time consuming video is increasing and is opening doors to new advertising capabilities and opportunities. Whether that’s putting your own content out there or working with customers to distribute their content, figure out what you want to promote, how you want it look/what you want to say, and work together to make sure you have all of your boxes checked. Once you have your video done, plan on following this strategy more frequently. With that much of an increase in sales, revenue and overall ROI, your business can start serving as an example of how to advertise through video right!

All marketing and sales stats are verified on behalf of Wyzwol, Hubspot, Aberdeen Group, WordStream, Marketing Charts, PROMO.com, and Dreamgrow.
